Safety measures to consider before starting the engine of your machine

Below are a few tips to help you:

  • Inspect the engine for potential hazards such as exhaust gas leaks, fuel leaks, oil leaks, or an unguarded cooling fan.
  • Ensure that all protective guards and covers are in place.
  • Inspect the cooling system hoses for cracks and loose clamps, and ensure that the coolant level is correct.
  • Check the engine lubrication oil level and maintain it between the “ADD” and “FULL” marks on the oil level dipstick.
  • Observe the air cleaner indicator and service or replace the filter when the red piston locks in the visible position.
  • Inspect the alternator and cooling fan drive belts for cracks, breaks, or excessive wear.
  • Check the fuel supply and drain water from the water separator.
  • Never bypass or disable the automatic protective shutoff circuits.
